Comments: Printed copies of your sites to be read at home. Just as an interesting aside, sometimes the genes show up generations later. There was an oral tradition from my father and his Uncle that there was a Hizer/Rockefeller connection. I believe my gt. grandfather, Lyman Henry Heizer (1831- 1890's?), was a grandson of a John Heizer and Margaret Rockefeller, d/o Simon Rockefeller. My father, Walter A. Hizer (1906-1992), looked like an identical twin of Nelson A. Rockefeller (1908-1979).

I have come in contact with distant relatives, that I have never known. The reason for my search was due to my greatgreat grandfathers German Bible that was given to me and the hand inscriptions in it. He along with three of his teenage sons died within one month of influenza. Diane Minnich Mowery

I must tell you that I have never been so impressed with the value of the information, the thoroughness, and pure educational value, as is put forth in these pages. I have never learned so much about my own people as I have on this web site. Thank you very much for a great educational experience. Comments: I visited to research or verify a link to my greatgreat grandparents, Jonathan Hall and Susanah Kerchner Hall. The family had spelled it Kirschner but have found that my great grandfather spelled many things as they sounded to him. I have pictures I have verified as the Hall family and believe one photo is of Susanah Kerchner Hall and I think her sister Jerildene Kerchner Churchill. The sisters settled and died in Fillmore County, Ne and I am trying to document their parents. Susanahs' death certificate lists only George Kerchner born in PA. Other e-mail contacts have led to the belief that this is indeed George Kerchner who died in Keokuk, Iowa. Would you have these names in any of your files and family lines? I really enjoyed the German Naming Customs as both my husband's family and mine have many German ancestors and this really clarifys some confusion. THANK YOU

Comments: We know that our family migrated from South Carolina in 1852. However, I have been unable to link back to anyone before they settled in South Carolina. One family member had research done, but the information in the report doesn't match what I have found on the internet, eg. name of the ship and the date of its arrival are not the same in the documents I have found compared to the report. You site was very helpful! the naming patterns, the meanings of names, etc. gave me more insight into how to interpret what I find. Oh yes, I was looking in Pennsylvania because I found a Johan Kertz who was aboard a ship that landed in Philadelphia (I believe -- I don't have all my notes here with me.) Thank you for your site. I really enjoyed it.

Comments: My main concern at the moment, and the past couple of years, is to find the father and mother of my ggrandfather, Volney Bloss/Blass. He is supposed to have been born in Orleans County, NY 4/1832, but can find no source. My father once stated he thought his family was of Pennsylvania Dutch origin. I have looked into the Pennsylvania BLOSS family cursorily and somewhat more deeply into the NY Bloss/Blass Palatine family. I truly believe the line comes through NY but there is still two more lines to follow and that is the MA Bloss family from England and the group from RI, probably of French origin. Oh well, I'm retired and have nothing else but "Hony-Dews" and this stuff.

Comments: My maiden name is Egner, and I can't seem to find out where they came from they were in the Warsaw In. census of 1880 and supposed to have been in Ohio in 1842. Also my Beil family is from around Allentown and Catasaugua. I am new to internet searching and you are so helpful. I enjoyed your info on the P. Dutch. When I was about 6 I kicked a man for calling my grandfather "The Old Dutchman."

Comments: My first American born ancestor, Uriah Tippie, settled on the Lehigh river, was caught in a nightime flood (1787, I think) in which he and his wife lost their two children. The flood was thereafter called The Tippie Flood - and was used to compare later floods- until a larger flood occurred about 60 years later. He served in the Rev. War and was granted Warrant Land in Ohio. I'm just beginning my search for the other surnames listed above.
